We also have rich expertise in successfully handling the emerging requirements of 96% Radex Insulation Powder. These find usage as ladle and tundish covering compounds and have in them high insulating power along with good expandability as well as spread-ability. It instantly spreads to cover entire molten steel surface in ladle and tundish and helps in significantly reducing heat loss that occurs due to radiation from top surface of liquid steel. Further, it also helps in maintaining consistent temperature in ladle as well as in preventing temperature drop as well as freezing of metal in longer duration casting processes.
After the addition of DA FUSION a liquid slag is quickly formed which is in direct contact with the steel surface as it rises up the ingot. This liquid flux dissolves the nonâ??metallic inclusions which rise to the surface, whilst providing a protective layer between the steel and the ingot mould. In addition a powdered layer is maintained on the surface which protects the steel from the atmosphere and prevents oxidation and temperature loss.
