Our requirement is for the ongoing monthly supply of one 20 foot sea container containing 26 metric tonnes of food grade 100% broken white rice for milling into rice flour, packed in either 20 kg or 25 kg food grade woven polypropylene bags.

REQUIREMENT DETAILS
Melbourne Milling Company requires food grade 100% broken white rice suitable for human consumption and milling into rice flour in Australia.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
The rice must be:
100% broken white rice
Food grade and suitable for human consumption
Raw and non parboiled
Non steamed
Non fragrant and non aromatic
Free from jasmine, basmati and other aromatic rice varieties
Clean and polished
Consistent in variety and quality throughout each shipment
Free from infestation, mould, objectionable odours and foreign matter
Suitable for milling into rice flour for food manufacturing applications
Medium grain rice comparable to Australian Calrose is preferred. However, suitable non fragrant long grain varieties, including IR64 or an equivalent variety, may also be considered subject to specification review, product samples and a successful milling trial.
Current season or previous season rice may be offered, provided it remains fully compliant with food grade requirements and the agreed quality specifications.

QUANTITY REQUIRED
Initial order:
One 20 foot container containing 26 metric tonnes net weight.
Ongoing requirement:
One 20 foot container per month. The volume may increase to two 20 foot containers per month after the rice has passed our quality assessment and milling trial.
The supplier must confirm the maximum net weight of rice that can be legally loaded and shipped in one 20 foot container to Melbourne, Australia.
PACKING REQUIREMENTS
The rice must be packed in new food grade woven polypropylene bags.
Acceptable bag sizes:
20 kg bags
25 kg bags
50 kg bags are not acceptable.
The supplier must confirm whether the full 26 metric tonnes can be packed onto pallets in one 20 foot container. If 26 metric tonnes cannot be achieved using pallets, please confirm the maximum palletised load and whether 26 metric tonnes can be supplied using floor loaded bags.
