Diammonium phosphate is a two-nutrient fertilizer. It contains 18% nitrogen (N) and 46% phosphorus (P) as P2O5. Since its nitrogen content is in ammonium (NH4) form, it is particularly effective in the first development stages of plants. When used as a base fertilizer, its nitrogen content may not be sufficient to provide plantsâ?? need. Therefore, if diammonium phosphate is preferred as starter fertilizer, plants must be supported with other nitrogencontaining fertilizers in top dressed fertilization.
