Mica is a mineral name given to a group of minerals that are physically and chemically similar. They are all silicate minerals, known as sheet silicates because they form in distinct layers. Micas are fairly light and relatively soft, and the sheets and flakes of mica are flexible. Mica is heat-resistant and does not conduct electricity. There are 37 different mica minerals. The most common include: clear muscovite, brown phlogopite, black biotite and sericite.From processing technic, it can be divided into dry ground mica and wet ground mica.
Muscovite is the most common mineral of the mica family. It is an important rock-forming mineral present in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. It is also the most widely used mica.
Appearance:
Not only transparent and nearly colorless, most have a slight brown, yellow, green, or rose-color tint.
Luster: Pearly to vitreous

Dehydrated mica, also known as calcinated mica, is a special muscovite who lose crystal water. The average moisture content of natural mica is 4.5%?but it is undesirable in some situation. For example, it provides an hydroxylion on the molten stainless steel, so it is an enemy of stainless steel electrodes. In that case, our company adopt the calcine process of rotary kiln to remove the crystal water without damaging the struture o

Brief Introduction:
Huayuan synthetic mica is produced by hot melting method according to the chemical compositions and inner structures of natural mica. Synthetic mica forms through heating, melting, cooling and crystallization. The raw materials are blended, including quartz sand, potassium carbonate, aluminium oxide, potassium fluosilicate, fused magnesite and some other minerals. It has advantage of smoother surface, higher whiteness and purity. Synthetic mica is free from heavy metals that are harmful to human body.

1. CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE MINERAL MICA
Chemical Composition:
The general formula for mica group minerals is XY Z O (OH, F) :
X: Can be K, Na, Ba, Ca, Cs, (HO), or (NH).
Y: Includes Al, Mg, Fe, Li, Cr, Mn, V, and Zn.
Z: Comprises Si, Al, Fe, Be, and Ti.
The chemical properties of mica minerals vary depending on the specific type of mica. However, all micas are silica (SiO2), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), and potassium oxide (K2O). Some micas may contain other elements, such as iron oxide (Fe2O3) and magnesium oxide (MgO). The following table shows the chemical composition of some common mica minerals:

Of the 28 known species of mica, six are common rock-forming minerals:
Muscovite: The common light-colored mica.
Biotite: Typically black or nearly black.
Phlogopite: Typically brown.
Paragonite: Macroscopically indistinguishable from muscovite.
Lepidolite: Generally pinkish to lilac; occurs in lithium-bearing pegmatites.
Glauconite: A green species found sporadically in marine sedimentary sequences.
1. PARTICLE SIZE: The proportion of fragments with particle size under 8 Mesh not be more than 8%
2. IMPURITIES: The proportion of impurities (biotite quartz stone and sand etc.) will not more than 2%
3. CALCINATION: The Mica Flakes will withstand calcination temperature of 850-920 temperature degree centigrade for 30 minutes. The calcined material will turn to silver/white colour.
