Basalt roving is used in different industries. Itâ??s used for production of the following products:
Rebar for concrete reinforcement
Profiles and pipes
High-pressure vessels
Geogrids
Various types of fabrics
Basic technologies of basalt roving processing are the following
Pultrusion,
Filament winding,
Weaving,
Multiaxial fabrics production.
Direct roving is a ready â?? to â?? sell continuous one-end strand produced in the drawing process and wound on bobbins with 200 mm internal diameter. The main advantage of direct roving is zero catenary and excellent appearance.
That is the reason why direct roving is used for production of fabrics and geogrids, as well for production of pultruded profiles and rebar. For other applications customers may need roving with much higher tex, comparing to direct roving, such as 2400 or 4800 tex.
Some customers canâ??t use direct roving, because they need roving wound on bobbins with external unwinding. These products can be produced in form of assembled roving.
Egular assembled roving consists of several single-end strands joined together without twisting on special assembling machine.
It is supplied on bobbins with internal unwinding (tubeless, 76 mm internal diameter) or external unwinding (bobbins are wound on a tube with internal diameter of 76 mm and length of 270 mm).
The basalt fiber roving of our company adopts the new tank kiln method and 2400 hole large leakage plate to form basalt roving products With a series of advantages such as high strength, large modulus, good temperature resistance, good chemical corrosion resistance and good electrical insulation, basalt is produced with homogenized basalt raw materials, with excellent performance, stable quality and small dispersion coefficient. Basalt fiber roving is a new material to replace glass fiber and carbon fiber

Basalt Chopped Fibers â?? Features & Benefits High tensile strength Resistant to alkali in concrete and require no special coatings Resist cold down to -260°F and heat up to 1,500°F Do not conduct electricity or induce electrical fields Do not absorb or wick water Will not harbor bacteria or microbial growth Has good fatigue resitance Basalt Chopped Fiber â?? Specifications Basalt Chopped Fiber Diameter: 13 microns to 20 microns Basalt Chopped Fiber Lengths: 3mm to 90mm Basalt Chopped Fiber with sizing (binder) for applications: portland cement and asphalt Basalt Chopped Fiber with sizing (binder) for resins: thermoplastic, epoxy, polyester, pva, & phenolic Basalt fibers unlike other fibers will not harbor bacteria or microbial growth. For example corrosion is caused in municipal sewers by aerobic bacteria. These convert into sulfuric acids which quickly dissolve concrete. Basalt fibers will not harbor these bacteria. Due to basaltâ??s low thermal conductivity, deposition of salts and paraffinâ??s inside the pipes is also reduced. Structural basalt composite components (such as pipes and rods) are made from unidirectional basalt reinforcement. In combination with its high specific strength (9.6 times as high as steel), high resistance to aggressive media, and high electrical insulting properties, this results in specialty products such as insulators for high voltage power lines. For asphalt applications, over one half inch less thickness can be laid down saving tons of asphalt while gaining a 30-50% better lifespan! Basalt composite pipes can transport corrosive liquids and gases. So, thinner panels with less cracking and the ability to maintain fine molded details without small areas chipping off or breaking.
Used for reinforcing asphalt-concrete (covering in construction, reconstruction and repair of airport, runways, highways and any pavements, pedestrian ways, road inclines and banks). The reinforcement with basalt mesh geo-grid increases the overall reliability, safety and the cutting process output. The strength of basalt mesh is as good as metal reinforcement, however it is also 2.6 times lighter, thereby simplifying transportation and handling in construction. Asphalt-concrete reinforcement with geo-grid: It is possible to reduce asphalt thickness with 4 cm when reinforcing with geogrid. The benefits: Suitable for all types of asphalt mixes. Minimizes both thermal and stress related reflective cracking. Reduces pavement rutting under high ambient temperatures and intense wheel loads. Increases the fatigue life of pavements with weak foundations. Extends pavement life. Provides cost benefits by increasing pavement life cycle. Fast, easy installation and recyclable. Reduces overlay thickness to a minimum of 50 mm.
Basalt Rebar Basalt rebar is a perfect material for civil and industrial construction with continuous spiral ribbing formed by means of winding by basalt strip oiled in highly durable polymeric compound. Basalt Rebar is an alternative to steel and fiberglass for reinforcing concrete. Basalt Rebar is demanded in the construction market, nevertheless, many people are not even aware of its existence. The material has many useful features which are essential for modern construction, due to which it is in serious competition even with metal. A basalt rebar consists of numerous basalt filaments, which being bound to each other, create a durable and a strong bond, thereby forming an excellent material for construction. Despite the fact, that for a long time, the rebars for the construction, have been made entirely of metal, recently the situation has dramatically changed, as basalt has also become a prospective one, which means that its quality and features will be improved with time.
