Kiln dried is wood that has been dried in an insulated chamber which removes any any excess moisture from it. Less than 19%. Air-dried wood can take up to one year to season to the same dry levels.

Kiln Dried Birch Firewood offers great value for money as Birch logs are very easy to light and burn with a superb flame pattern. The logs release a pleasant aroma which will add to the warming feel of the fire. Birch is incredibly popular in Scandinavian countries where they say the only way to survive an arctic winter is to burn Birch. It is also popular with Bear Grylls and other survival experts who use the flaky bark as tinder if they find themselves marooned in the wilderness.

Logs are cut to 25cm in length to fit the vast majority of wood burners and are kiln dried to an average moisture content of 20%.

Each kiln dried log will give out more heat than a comparable seasoned log meaning you will spend less money on logs to achieve the same level of heat. Seasoned logs are often inconsistent due to the variations in moisture content that arise from natural seasoning process.

Firewood is made of locally supplied timber. The wood species we use to make firewood are beech, Ash, Oak, Birch, Alder, Pine, and Fir. Each log can be cut into pieces of 25, 30 or 45 cm, split 4-6 times for 8-15 cm diameter and stacked into 1m�³, 1,8m�³, 2m�³ or 2,2m�³ boxes or bags of 9.5 L, 21 L, 30 L, 40 L or 60 Liters. It is sold in 3 levels of moisture: fresh (35-55%), air-dried (25-35%) or kiln-dried (<25%).

Our logs are derived from hardwood (broadleaf) and softwood (conifers) species. The firewood is free from any chemicals or contaminations.
