Trunnion mounted ball valve is used to industrial pipeline and long-distance transportation pipeline for various corrosive and non-corrosive medium, such as water, steam, oil, gas, liquefied Gas, natural gas, nitric acid, acetic acid, strong oxidizer, urea etc. According to different working conditions, there are two types of valve body structure choices: 2 pieces and 3 pieces split body .

Trunnion mounted designs for forged steel trunnion mounted ball valve is available for over 2" size and are generally used for higher pressure. Three pieces body, blow-out proof stem, antistatic device, fire-safe designed and certified, double block and bleed, self relieving. Execution could be full bore or reduced bore, and materials can be carbon steel, stainless steel, special alloys resilient or metal seated

These have the ball mounted on trunnions supported in body bearings above and below the ball. sealing is achieved by spring loaded piston type seats which shut off flow when line pressure acts on the upstream seat. This design provides automatic rilief of cavity overpressure.
