1. Operational Principle
The dried and cleaned compressed air is fed into one or more membrane modules, each of which is composed of several millions of the hollow fiber. The diameter of each fiber is as long as the hair of human being. Various gases in the air (78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% Argon) have their different permeation rate when they pass through the wall of the membrane. Therefore, oxygen, water vapor and argon etc. which is under the effect of pressured air flow, permeates fast through the wall of the membrane then dried nitrogen may be produced. Nitrogen from the terminal of the membrane is sent to the using point.
2. Typical application
Nitrogen is used in steel making converter & roof of blast furnace as sealing gas and in Converter pulverized coal injection, continuous casting, rolling, steel annealing, stress elimination, aging, quenching heating, carburization, nitrocarburizing, vacuum hardening etc. as heat treatment gas resource. Nitrogen is used in welding and powder metallurgy sintering process as protective gas as well as cleaning and diluting gas.
