Avocado fruit have greenish or yellowish flesh with a buttery consistency and a rich, nutty flavor. They are often in salads and in many parts of the world they are eaten as a desert.
Avocados are nutrient dense with folic acid, healthy monounsaturated fats, vitamin C, K additional B vitamins, potassium and other minerals and fiber.

Apple Bananas(musa sapientum)

The banana is a lengthy yellow fruit found in the market in groups of 3-20 fruits, similar to a triangular cucumber, blong and normally yellow. Its flavor is more or less sweet, depending on variety, nutrition and eating.
The apple banana is rich in fiber, potassium and some beneficial vitamins for health. A stubby, thick skinned, golden yellow fruit that is commonly known as apple banana this gourmet banana has a delicious, sweet taste with a hint of apple and strawberry. This short, plump, finger sized variety will turn dark yellow when ripe.

Green Bananas/Matooke(musa acuminata)

Green bananas are firmer than the yellow bananas. Their texture has sometimes been described as waxy. Green bananas are higher in starches. As bananas ripen and turn yellow, the starches transform into sugars.
Green bananas seem to be a good source of fibers, vitamins C, B6, provtamin A}, minerals bioactive compound such as phenolic compounds and resistant starch, potentially contributing to health benefits

Cavendish Bananas

The fruits of the Cavendish bananas are eaten raw, used in baking, fruit salads and to complement foods. The outer skin is partially green when bananas are sold in the food markets, and turns yellow when the fruit ripens. As it ripens the starch is converted to sugars turning the fruit sweet. They are slightly sweet and have creamy texture. They have various stages of ripening, from green to yellow to yellow with brown spots.

Beans (phaseolus vulgaris)

Bean seed or pod of certain leguminous plants of the family in protein and providing moderate amounts of iron, thiamin and riboflavin, beans are used worldwide for cooking in either fresh or dried form. Roughly kidney shaped with the ends lobed on either side of the hilum.

African Garden Egg (solanaceous Aeathiopicum)

A serving of eggplant can provide at 5% of a person's daily requirement of fiber, copper, manganese, B-6 and thiamine. It also contains other vitamins and minerals.

Passion Fruits (passflora edulis)

The passion fruit is sweet exotic fruit with a delicious, slightly tart flavor. The fruit is round and has a hard skin. It contains yellow pulp with black, edible seeds.
Passion fruit is rich in vitamin C which is antioxidant that helps protect the body from damaged caused by free radicals. Vitamin C boosts the immune system by helping the body to absorb more iron from plant based foods, and may improve the body's ability to fight off infections in the body.


Ginger, zingiber officinale is an erect, herbaceous perennial plant in the family zingiberaceae grown for its edible rhizome (underground stem) which is widely used as a spice. The rhizome is brown with a corky outer layer and pale-yellow scented center. They have a pale, thin skin that requires no peeling, is very tender, and has a milder flavor. It can be grated, chopped for use. Mature ginger root has a tough skin that must be peeled away to get to the fibrous flesh and is usually grated, chopped or ground for use.
Ginger is commonly used to treat various types of stomach problems including motion sickness, morning sicknesses, colic, upset stomach, gas, diarrhea, Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS), nausea, nausea caused by cancer treatment, nausea caused by HIV/AIDS treatment, nausea and vomiting after surgery.


They have a thin, light colored skin and are available in yellow, red and white. Summer fresh onions are known for their mild taste and are often referred to as sweet onions. With their delicate taste, fresh onions are an ideal choice for salads or lightly cooked dishes. The structure and the mechanical properties of onions are important factors affecting their textural quality. The onion bulb consists of several layers of pigmented, papery scales surrounding fleshy storage scales that comprise an upper epidermis.

Sweet Potatoes/Red or white (Ipomoea batatas)

The plant tubers can be variable in shape and can be red, brown, white or purple in color. Sweet potatoes have a fusiform shape, orange color and thicker and hard rind. There are 2 types of sweet potatoes, those with dry flesh and those with gelatinous flesh. Sweet potatoes are a rich source of fiber as well as containing an array of vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium selenium and they are a good source of most of our B vitamins and vitamin C.

Okra (savannah pussa)

Okra leaves are heart sharped and 3-5 lobed. The flowers are yellow with a crimson Centre. The fruit or pod, hairy at the base is tapering 10 angled capsules 10-25cm in length that contains numerous oval dark colored seeds.
Okra is rich in vitamins A and C as well as antioxidants that help reduces the risk of serious health conditions like cancer, diabetes, stroke and heart diseases, is also a good source of magnesium

Peanuts (arachis hypogaea)

A peanut is a plant that grows pods containing seeds that are known as peanuts, you may think of peanuts as nuts, but they are actually legumes. Despite the deceptive name peanut, this plant is more closely related to peas than it is to almonds and hazelnuts.
Peanuts are especially good source of healthful fats protein and fiber. They also contain plenty of potassium, phosphorous, magnesium and B vitamins. Despite being high in calories, peanuts are nutrient rich and low in carbohydrates.

Hot Pepper/habanero (capsicum Chinense)

The habanero pepper has a slightly fruity flavor. It registers between 100000 and 35000 scoville heat units on the scale. That's milder than a ghost pepper but hotter than the cayenne pepper, making it one of the hottest chilies you will find. Although there's some variation in flavor and heat level, each color of pepper packs a powerful punch. Green peppers are milder, while red and orange are the spiciest habaneros.
In addition, habanero contain significant amounts of vitamin C and A, both of which act as antioxidants, compounds that may decrease the risk of cancer by inhibiting the DNA damaging effects of radicals


Pineapple is a tropical fruit with a tough outer shell that looks like a pine cone with edible yellow fruit in side.
