The 1.5 layer forming fabric is actually a 5-shed single layer forming fabric that have modified to have extra yarns which provides it the same properties as that of a double layer one. 1.5 layer forming fabric is easy to clean, increase sheet release as well as retention and with the extra fabric provides an excellent drainage. The ideal 1.5 layer forming fabric for most paperboard and packaging grades applications, especially where a smooth top surface and long life potential are desired. In addition, Clean mesh yarn technology provides maximum resistance to premature fabric contamination. Polyester 2.5 layer forming fabric are also known as support shute double layer forming fabric or double layer extra designs. It's a standard double layer design with an extra shute yarn added on the forming side between the 2 regular cross direction yarns. This yarn increase the pulp fibre support and meanwhile create a more open structure as the amount of wear side yarns is reduced, compared with the forming side. 2.5 layer forming fabric's weaving effect greatly increases the fiber support index due to the addition of a fine weave at the top. The ratio of the top and bottom wefts is 2:1. It suitable for paperboard,newsprint,writing paper,tissue paper,printing paper,kraft paper. The SSB 3 layer forming fabric or "wire" of a paper machine is the continuous belt or belts of mesh screen upon which the paper sheet is formed. Most modern SSB 3 layer forming fabric are comprised of polyester monofilament. The weave pattern and layering of a SSB 3 layer forming fabric is designed to meet stringent requirements of dimensional stability, resistance to abrasion (on the wire side), minimum resistance to drainage, minimum wire-mark, and (sometimes) maximization of retention of fiber fines.
